I ordered 60 "Georgia giant " quail eggs off ebay back in feb or march. I received an extra 30 because usps smashed the first shipment. The lady found it a good gesture to add the 30 even though she didn't have to. Now i hatched about 67 of the eggs or so . Now my ? is does a gg lay a bigger egg than a standard northern bobwhite. The eggs i received look like normal size but the quail i have grown now sure as hell don't look no bigger than wild quail i have hunted. Does anyone have a photo of a side to side comparison of a nbw and a gg .

If everyone's doing it, is it a swindle or just what many of us have come to expect buying from various breeders?

Often there are serious guys who work up a great, big, line of birds but then after its sold to breeders, over the time without the effort put into improving the line it will move back towards "nature". Are they Ga Giants? Probably. Is the DNA any different than a normal wild bird? Not really. If its been several (#?) Generations of open breeding in some farms, the special traits will just disapear ad the birds are as close to wild as they can be.
