Hi,

My name is Teri. I have 4 chickens and 2 ducks (had more but we have been fighting a fox). I decided this year I wanted to try to raise some ducks. I have four viable eggs in the incubator and two have created small holes. The hole in one appeared last night and the other must have been made some time during the night. The humidity is above 85%. I whistle and hear an answering chirp. My daughter is driving me crazy but I am trying to be patient and let the chicks hatch if they can. I feel like I should give them at least to tonight to see if they can make progress, is that correct? Also the membranes look a little yellow.

Thank you for any comments or help.

welcome from Getaclue.gif

I am going to move your thread to the incubation thread.

Please come back and introduce yourself again.

When I hatched ducks, it took more time from pip to zip than chicken eggs.

I would leave it alone for more than 24 hours and watch the color of the membrane if you see it.

Can you get a picture?

I try to resist assisting. that is often a bad move unless you are an experienced hatcher

How's the hatch?..Ducks are slow to hatch ..Keep waiting.
They did great! I've got two. I did help them out a little this morning by peeling the shell but not the membrane. One had a head under its foot. Both seemed stuck. They both broke out shortly afterwards, no bleeding, no yolk sacks. Look really good.
