Hello,

I'm relatively new to raising chickens. I never would have thought that I would ever raise chickens and not to mention keep them as pets, but thanks to the encouragement of my family I'm glad I did it!

I started my first flock last April and currently have three chicks in the brooder in my living room.

Awww, are your 3 chicks laying yet? If so, what breeds?

Hello and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us.

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

All the best

They are Blue Ameraucana, Salmon Faverolle, and Rhode Island Red. My fourth chick, a Lavender Orpington passed away 10 days after I got her. So now I'm left with only three chicks.

Here's a pic of them.
