I'm kinda new too. But I just read your last few days posts and didn't see anyone putting you down. But like the others said if someone is sending offensive messages then you need to report them. I think everyone here is friendly and helpful, and it is possible to get caught up in a heated discussion, I know I did once about racehorses beig sold for slaughter. But There will always be someone that thinks they know more than you do and maybe they do. So don't take things personally. They don't know you and you don't know them. There is a "click" on the forum, but you will find that everywhere : work, school, church. Give them another chance and hang in there.

Sometimes I've found it best when I have started a thread.. then feel attacked.. to not go back and read future comments. I realize I miss the good with the bad this way, but it does spare my feelings (haven't grown a very thick skin in my 30-odd years.. and not really sure I want to at this point).

As for your eggs, Lanna, I think you have beautiful birds (especially your Polish! He's FANTASTIC!) and are charging a VERY fair price for their eggs. I will be buying some from you as soon as my dh builds my new, bigger coop

Hey lanna! I am pretty new here too. I am so sorry that you haven't been happy here. In my opinion, this is the nicest website with the nicest people that I have ever been on. I had been on other websites with forums before and the people on them were very rude and didn't want me on the forum because I was a kid. One person even said that I didn't know what I was talking about and to get off the site. But everyone on byc is nice. I really hope that you stay!

I saw this post earlier in the day and thought I would add my 2 cents when I could, so... I too read your previous posts and like Wildsky, Southern28Chick and Palabeco, I did not see anything inflammatory, derogatory or argumentative in any of them so I am wondering what your expectation was when you made your post.
I agree with Southern's comments that most of your posts have been made in the sale category and I think that does open more potential for scrutiny due to the possibility of exchanging money and product. Related to that, I saw where someone questioned the breed you represented, I thought that was a fair and reasonable point for the possible buyer to make. I didn't see anything related to the jealousy Southern mentioned, but otherwise I agree with all of her comments. I think this board provides the opportunity to participate as much as you want or as little as you want. The light hearted banter and the crazy posts that make me laugh out loud at my computer, are exactly the reasons that I keep coming back! Several folks talked about how unrealistic it is to expect everyone on this board to "like" each other, that probably wont happen but I do think that Rob has set this site up with the expectation that users will not be bashed, humiliated or otherwise treated inappropriately when they post, pm or email--so, yes, report that if it is happening to you, otherwise, just join in more and be realistic about what you hope to gain from the posts you choose to "join in on"! Lanna, I think your chickens are super super cute, and unique, I think the mixed breeds make beautiful chickens. I don't think I or the chickens, or most of the members care what breed they are, they are easily sellable for cuteness alone.
I have been on a few message boards, and one was terribly clicky where I felt newer members were quite ignored. I'm on another one where it feels like a click, but the more you post, the more you feel like a part of things. I am also on a board for farriers where just about every question turns into "words" between the "experts", and the question may not get answered, and they are quite blunt. But very informative, so I stay.
I don't find this board clicky, but I do feel that the frequent posters or long time posters can make it appear clicky, but have never seen anyone treated like an outsider. Keep posting and keep commenting on other posts, and you will see how the people here really are, down to earth, nice strange people who love chickens or love chicken.

I'll post again and say that if I hatched eggs myself or if I ever get a broody, I would be happy to buy some eggs from you. "Mutts" or not! I do believe that some of the prettiest birds I've ever seen were cross breeds. Heck, I have 55 EE's, which are cross breeds aka MUTTS.

Like I said in my other post, no one has the right to send you hateful comments through PM or email. If you get them again then report them, if you saved the ones you got before then report them. I do stand by my comment that if someone sent you hateful emails or PMs it is because they are jealous of your beautiful birds or your success in selling hatching eggs, why else would they take the time out of their day to send you rude comments?!

I hope that you are not run off from this forum because of a couple of 'rotten eggs'. I respect you here and I know a lot of other people do too. If you have any questions about chickens or need a shoulder to lean on...I'm here for you!
