So sorry for your loss. Dotty looked like a real sweetie.

I've spent many hours crying over poorly hens, and even sat sobbing when they went off for veterinary care because I couldn't bear the empty coop outside. I have no idea how many pieces I'll be in when I actually lose one of them. I've only had my girls since February, and cannot remember crying so often as I have between then and now.

No-one else can understand my love for 'those silly chickens', but I know everyone on here feels the same way - we care for them and love them just like people love any other pet. They are more than 'just chickens' to us.

So sorry chickenlickin8 - but I'm sure she knew she was loved very much x

Thanks! You guys are the best online chicken community ever! My girls are my babies and I think chickens know we love them especially when they see their food and treats. It was weird not seeing Dotty out there today with the other girls. One of my girls is broody right now so the new chicks will help take my mind off of her not being here anymore.
