Have you ever done this?

Not always. I worked for a vet for 15 years, and we treated many dogs and also cats, for giardiasis, coccicidiosis, and general stomach upsets from eating or drinking from unclean sources. Yes, dogs drink from the toilet, and their systems do handle bacteria better than ours do.They also get sick from bacteria. They are also dying from Bluegreen algae blooms in lakes. So do wild animals, BTW.
I agree that they have certain defenses. But human, cat, dog, chicken, deer, etc...if you eat a parasitic worm egg...you will probably get worms. Thank you for mentioning the algae bloom. It is a real problem that I think most people are unaware of.

exactly what is filtered water. You said I have it. I don't know of any filter in my water system.
I am happy for you, having chickens for two whole years. I raised thousands of chickens in my over 50 years of farming.
along with pigs, cattle goats and almost every kind of fowl available to us in the uSa.
Getting back to the OP. someone else's private conversation is none of my business.
I just let them go on and on.
Of course working at a vet's office you are going to see lots of disease. but what percentage of the total animals out there end up at the vet's ?
I already know what you are going to say.
many don't come to the vet.
..and yes, you did insinuate that your way was better, and you still are maintaining that view.
