I am trying to see if this young adult gosling goose has bumblefoot. I can't get close enough but thought I saw a bumblefoot blister. Maybe. He/she is using one leg, as if I bent my hand down 90 degrees and then tried to walk on my wrist - he is walking on his joint, with his foot bent under. Not a lot of pressure on the joint, and he doesn't seem to be extremely in pain. He can extend the foot and spread it out and place it, he just does not want to. Has anyone seen a bumblefoot goose attempt to do this? Or would this be something else.

Also, can bumblefoot heal on it's own?

Could be a break maybe a water fowl rescue team will come to his aid. Or load him up and a crate and take him to one. Poor thing needs help. I imagine he is in pain they just don't show it like we do.

Just curious if you ever figured out what the problem was? I have a goose coming around doing the same thing. It’s weird though because he showed up and was limping and one leg was swollen but he was using both feet. We noticed fishing line around both of his legs and we got it off after a few days of trying and for a day or 2 after that he was still limping but walking with both feet then yesterday he showed up and he’s walking how you described on the swollen legs ankle joint and not on his foot. I don’t know if he injured it the last day or so and it’s just a coincidence or if there’s something more going on.
