Quote: I tend to agree with you, the purple coloration is somewhat subtle and can be very hard to distinguish in photos unless shot just right/
I've seen purple side by side with a blue and no way is a purple THAT purple but you can tell the difference in the two.
That picture on ebay with the male strutting though is so obviously photo shopped it's not even funny...well, it kinda of is, I sure got a laugh out of it.
I think this is what you are referring to: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-INDIA-BLU...074?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item41816d15aaE-Bay is a great place to advertise, and show your intelligence as well. Keep an eye out for the India Blue 1/2 Black Shoulder that is rare and they have been working on this for many years. They advertised them last year and I noticed another ad from them last week, still stating these were "rare" because the were 1/2 black shoulder. If you look closely at the bird in their ads,he's a plain barred winged IB Peacock with several black wing feathers, but is by no means "rare" and if they have been working on them for years,as they state, they have been wasting a lot of time. I have 3 barred winged 2yr old IB Males and every one of them has the same black wing feathers identical to the male they use in their ads. When they sell again and if I catch it,I will add the link here.
Ipomoea nil. I love Japanese morning glories! Very pretty! Oh and nice hen too!

I saw this seller selling PURE bronze peafowl...earlier listings they had a photo in the auction of a bronze hen with a very obvious white wing feather...split to white.
The more recent auctions they ran for the same bronzes they had removed that photo but left the other photos in, guess someone called them on that split to situation.
Curious though, being that one of the bronze hens is split to white and bred with the bronze male ( assuming he's not also " split ) does that mean there will also be white chicks...just what would come of that breeding ?
Wow where did you find that picture? That's a lot of peafowl!
