funny responses! She has layed several of these strange eggs. The other day she layed a soft, thin-shelled torpedo shaped egg. She cannot seem to get it right. I hope she will figure it out soon.

Basically it is explained as the egg goes through the oviduct and for some reason, it gets going the wrong way at one point...so the egg gets covered in the membrane, then shell, then goes backwards for more membrane, then is laid.
