mmmm sebbies are cool! My daughter is taking the summer and going to be hatching eggs to sell at our local small animal sale place, so she does not really care what she hatches I know she wants to have a variety. I will keep you in mind though!!!

Wow! I'm impressed.

That's some haul!!
I was happy the day I got 11 eggs from my 12 hens and one duck egg from my 2 ducks (one hasn't laid yet). I am on the hunt for more khaki campbell ducks. My Pat has laid an every day since she started laying early last week, except for the day after her very first egg. I NEED more duck eggs. We love them! I made waffles with them this morning. YummmmY!

I live in the country. We do have people living nearby but this place is the sticks. A grocery store is 15 miles in any directions - not too far by driving standards today but still very rural and isolated if you don't have a car to drive. If these people around me who sit on their porches and smoke cigarettes and chatter all evening had the capacity to understand what they are missing out on all of them would have something laying eggs in their yards.

With chickens, ducks and geese and the quail I feel rich in so many ways. The eggs are considered gourmet around here. When I look through antique recipes for Kings and our founding fathers and see them filled with the 'finest of duck eggs" or the eggs from 'fine plump geese' I feel extra special with what I can serve my family. I also remember it took me an entire year of planning and toting buckets of water in ice and snow to get here. I appreciate the bounty of our harvest in so many ways I can't even put it into words.
