Have you put a baby under the momma 4 days after last chick hatched?

You might try putting the three together in your brooder for a little while, with goodies, and give this chick a little time to bond with the other chicks. Then give the whole bunch to mom while they're still active, in the daytime. With luck, the new one will stick with the other chicks, and run back to mom when they do.

I once had a hen hatch out 3 chicks. I wanted more so went and bought 3 more. I think I read this on here. I took the box of chicks where mom and babies were, shook the box a little to get the chicks in the box really making noise. Mom got worked up, I let the chicks out of the box. Mom gathered up the poor dears that I had so abused, giving me dirty looks the whole time, and went off with all of them.

That's hilarious!!

I've let them be together all day, and think I'll go get the last one and trade for one that's been inside so it can meet the new kid. Or maybe I'll just give them a whirl together after I pick my kids up in a little bit...

I had a baby Scovie hatch yesterday and moved it under mom about an hour ago, she hatched ll the others she still had and i tossed the last one because it was rotten

she seems to be taking the baby just fine, he is obviously attached to people though, he kept trying to run towards me and she kept squeaking at him to get back, lol.

we'll see how it goes
