We have hens that are 24 weeks old haven’t started laying, and now we are going into winter. Will we have to wait til spring for eggs? Should we add light? We have 1 Buff Orp, 1 Olive Green EE, and 2 Golden Polish hens.

They'll do what they decide to do :idunno

I'm at almost 59°N, already well under nine hours of actual daylight and I just had a 25 week old pullet start laying a couple of days ago. Wasn't expecting that but chickens gonna chicken.

Are they showing any signs of getting ready to start, yet?

My Buff’s comb and wattle are definitely getting much bigger, and the EE is squatting a little but not sure if that is anything. They are also getting way more noisey!
