Having a hard time finding a puppy.

I am looking for a female dachshund puppy with long hair in Illinois or Wisconsin. Anybody know of anyone who raised them and has some for sale? I am having a really hard time finding any. Our dachshund died a few weeks ago and we would like to find a puppy.

I figured that I might as well give it a try on here.

Hey I may have something for you. Unless you HAVE to have a dachshund with papers here's two adoptable dachshunds (one is long-haired, the other smooth-haired) in IL http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/20021720 and another one in IL (may have papers; said he came from a breeder) http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/19103245 yet another one http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/19525149 . There are probably tons more but I stopped right there. I adopted my Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retreiver after finding her on Petfinder.com It's a wonderful site. You go to petfinder.com put in the breed of animal you are looking for (if you want a certain one), tell what state your in or your zip code and it will display all the (for example) dachshunds in your area that are waiting to be adopted. I think you can even receive emails when the breed you're looking for becomes available! Good luck.... I hope you find the perfect dog!

No luck so far. Seems like everyone has boys. I am opening up the search to Eastern Iowa and very western Indiana. I cant believe I havent found anyone in the Chicago area that has any. I heard from one breeder that many people have stopped breeding in our area.

look into these folks: http://www.chazlynboardinggrooming.com/ email and talk with them, they are very big in the dachshund world, and breed HEALTHY quality dogs, if they don't have anything of their own, they can point you in the right direction.
