Having a hard time processing quail :(

I have never "liked" killing an animal but for how long I've been doing it I don't mind getting the job done anymore!

I've always grown up with each animal serves a purpose, my dog guards us, my cats eat mice, chickens give eggs meat, goats give milk and meat, Cow gives milk, etc... Always helps to know they had a good life all the way up until you butcher them... Also what always helps my dad is to realize they are being killed instantly.

I killed my first chicken when I was 9 and ever since I've been helping dad with everything farm work.

It's always hard to kill animals. If you buy a live quail from a market, you will find it hard to kill. If you raise your own quails from when it hatched to the inevitable slaughter, it is 100X harder to kill. You need to go watch some war movies to harden up and put on the Rocky theme song for inspiration.

That first one is hard, because you're thinking of the bird. The second one isn't a walk in the park, but it's easier. Sooner, as time goes on, you're going to be thinking mainly of how much pleasure you're giving your family by cooking up delicious and nutritious quail dinners! My favorite was always smothered quail over wild rice with a mushroom gravy!!
