Having a problem with the forum

This has happened enough times that I am wondering what is going on.

I click on the forum, or go to another page within the forum, and the small icon in the tab (Chrome, Win 10, PC) keeps right on spinning. As if the page is still trying to load something. And clicking on the X for it to stop doesn't do anything more times than it does.

Sometimes I'll get a pop up saying that this tab (BYC) is using too many resources.
Sometimes I'll get a pop up asking me if I want to exit the page or reload it.

Being a supporter I would not expect the forum to be trying to load anything except content. Which it does just fine. But it feels like the forum is working overtimes to load something else.
It's about 50/50 if I can navigate or have to wait for it to stop on its own.

Anyone else?

In the time it took me to save and edit the screenshot, the page was still unresponsive. I could not "click" on anything or give a Like. I had to leave and come back.

When I get those, which actually have slowed down quite a bit, I hit the Exit page. You'll get "Oh Snap..."

If you hit to reload, the page you were on is reloaded immediately at that point.

Like @notabitail mentioned above, there's a large thread about this and similar issues, and it's being investigated.
