2 chiks n a roo
Songster
Hi everyone, after reading advice and tips on here for the past few days, I thought I'd join..
So after a lifetime of Loving roast chicken, fried eggs and anything chicken, I decided to buy some hens to get my own eggs given the price of them now.. But before the hens, I thought, why not save a rooster from the freezer so..
I bought a 4month old boy, just the usual brown/reddish kind.. then a couple of weeks later, I got 2 girls... So of course, there's 2 chiks, an a roo..
And as ya do, I gave them all names, Lucy, is a sweet, cheeky adventurous girl who will fly over the fence to chat to one of the dogs.. Then there's Jess who jumps up for a cuddle, especially if she sees the bread container. And then there's Rhodey.. can you guess his breed? As he grows his color gets stronger, brighter and well.. check out this tail.. and those primary's..
The girls are Hy-Line, an Rhodeys a Rhode Island Red x Hy-Line, and in the process of being parents, first egg half zipped but seems to have stopped.
