Having to give up chickens...

Yes, still visit the BYC!

Sorry to hear that, but ya know a pair of bantams wouldn't be any different than a pair of parrots and bantams lay eggs. Plus if you have an incu you can always practice hatching for others so when things change you'll be ready. Hens say, never give up, never surrender! You've got to keep in touch w/ your chicken family or else!

Thank you so much everyone. You all help immensely. Yesterday was hard on dgd and me, the quail went. They are so quiet and such fun we'll have to do it again someday. We of course cried, even though they're just going to niece's ranch. We will be visiting, but its not the same. Hens leave next week to brother and sister-in-laws, so once again we will keep on seeing them. (This sounds nuts, but all of you understand). And yes, we decided to keep our silky bantam. DGD is also trying to get us to keep one other, but we'll see. Thanks again, all.

Ah, you can't keep just one. That silkie needs a buddy.

i understand how sad it can be seeing a beloved pet leave. But so nice that your family is taking them in, and good you will be able to still see them. Hope everything works out well.

Sorry you're having to get rid of your chickens but glad you're staying on BYC - remember your Silkie will be a much happier bird if she has a bantam companion!
