Hawk attack, back of neck

Y'all were right! Chickens are amazingly resilient. We opted out of stitching it up, and decided not to give her an antibiotic. She recovered 100% except for a little bald spot on the back of her neck.. maybe I'll knit her a scarf for the winter ;) Thank you all soooo very much for all your help! Here she is....

Lucky chicken; you look like a loving mommy. God bless you.
My girl got her neck ripped into By a hawk this afternoon in NH. The skin holding feathers was ripped off 3/4 of the distance @ her neck. I heard a ruckus outside of chick noises. Ran out saw my 2 roosters with the little girl Bantam that never leaves one boys side but other 4 girls no where to be seen. They always stay together! Not in henhouse; Suddenly I see down my fence line a hawk on the ground a as I get closer see it's got my girl Handsome whose neck was so far to the side I thought she was dead. Hawk flew off reluctantly leaving my girl who was alive.I picked her up got hubby ran around finding the other 3 girls hovering at the house foundation in front yard. Had thought they were dead too. I cried. So happy.
her internal neck structures seem ok just having diff. Supporting neck. Washed all out w saline put antibiotic ointm on wound replaced skin wrapped w self adhering dressing. Did Bactine spray too which has lidocaine in it; not too much tho. Lidocaine can do funny things. Accepting drops water with eyedropper and swallows. Keeping her in tonite; in my arms right now sleep ing. Have to support her neck. Wonder about antibiotics and stitches? Can't tell a pain. Did a poop and can stand on her own but head neck droops. Please what do you all think and how should I proceed?
sorry should have put this elsewhere.☺

Sorry about your hawk attack, but so glad that you saved your hen. It sounds like you have done all you can do for now. She is in good hands inside and separated from the others. Usually trimming feathers from a wound is good to do. Take a picture or two if possible. Stitches are usually not necessary, and are better left to a vet. Usually cleaning the wound and applying an antibiotic ointment are good enough. Antibiotics would probably be prescribed if you saw a vet, but might not be necessary unless an infection occrus. Most feed stores only have injectable penicillin these days. If her neck persists in sagging, she might have some neurological damage. In that case offering some vitamin E (400IU) daily could help. Keep her nesr food and water, and keep her warm.

Thanks for the advice; she's rallied I would say; walking @ house, eating cat food moist today, h20, pooping with no blood, seems to like being in housr. Took on to reunite with flock for short time yest and one h e n attacked her twice starting a her neck wrap and head rooster pecked at her once. Prob saying where u been, don't go off again! Going to avian vet now cu, can't imagine it not getting infected with such huge degloving of neck so want to get broad spectrum antibiotic + get vet opinion on scope of exposure of her internal neck structures w this attack + should we just leave it. Couldn't get pic yest when changed wrap cuz didn't want to unpeel her skin flap for several reasons. How are u preventing hawk attacks? Do u free range?
