One hen was killed and we just discovered this under the wing of another. I have a tough decision to make. This is an older hen, doesn't really lay anymore, BUT this is one of the first 4 chickens I ever owned. She helped start what is now a 40 plus chicken farm. I don't want her to be in pain just because of my sentimentality but if it's reasonable to think she can be ok then I'll try.
We washed it and put antibiotic cream on it. She is up and grooming herself, alert.

You are right - it is a tough decision. It looks survivable. Guess it come down to how well she's likely to heal and her quality of life. Good luck whatever you decide to do. :hugs
