Hawk Attacked Head

Back to the subject ...
Besides the eggs for breakfast, this has been the most accepted by Missy of what various things have been tried. Although she really want the pellets and birdseed but cant eat dry by herself yet and does not go for porridge or gruel for some reason... Probably pain... she skipped the bowl of eggs and floating birdseed and mash etc but kept at attempts to dry stuff from hand, feeder, floor with no luck... she seems to like this best so far:

the stuff on the lid is shrimp tail shell and oats which the hummus acts as a stickifyer so as sort of shrimp chip with hummus and oats dip she gets 1 at a time in the mouth from the side. Syringe used for super juice and more hummus.

After 2-1/2 hours this morning of cleaning . inspecting . dribbling . coaxing . using syringe and otber approaches to get sustenance into her, I got the cup of birdseed and tossed in all the spilled stuff from earlier. Missy stared over and over pointing her right eye at the seeds and stuff obviously trying to see through the puffy eyelids. After a seeming eternity, she began attempting to pick, found she could almost keep hold of a bit, then took the plunge and ate like there was no tomorrow! YAY!!! :wee:yesss:
Afternote... she also gave me a little somewhat dry "gift" after about a golf ball's worth of crop filling. :love

thanks. She can have everything she wants. Big lunch special today. It is obvious getting some depth perception back helped, but beak/jaw was without grip capability which has been gradually improving. Relate if you tried to tie your shoe laces after catching your fingertips in a slammed door, it could take awhile for pain and swelling to subside enough to do it. NSAIDs may also have helped, as gave with fluids at dawn.

side question... she stopped gorging when after one plunge into the cup, she had got a bunch of seed stuck in and on the damaged eye. Cleane that again. But also noticed a new sound of intermittent wheeze.
If she got some seed or sticky particles in her trachea can she expel it?
Edit. ..disregard... She's talking normal now no wheeze. Will continue to offer a deep cup to her alone so she gets to eat it without competition. A couple of hours in the coop revealed she still cant peck normally but can dive into the cup and get mouthfuls by default .

:lau I can't work one of those "smart" phones, still using a flip but there are times wish my laptop fit in my purse  Even with my laptop I'm "limited" so much learning ;)

:thumbsup Thank you aart, was not aware we could "isolate" sure saves on having to read some long threads.

Glad to hear your girl is doing better, she is a fighter!

Update - time in coop did not result in anything in crop near sundown. Just drinking a lot and trying to peck around whatever the others are eating. Watery small poop before getting boxed again for another personal ICU night. Got her to eat out of full cup of mixed seed grain and pellets. Put some meds in the soft expanded wad of soaked pellets that would not come through the syringe worth a D×%€x&@!!. Fed wad bits one at a time in side of beak.
Recleaned and dressed injuries. She's tired after all this and has a little in crop so covered box for her to rest inside again.
