Hey so I’m new to chickens. Have 3 hens 1 rooster for now. Everything was going good. No broody hens. Then my hen got attacked by a hawk. Luckily neighbor was outside and saved her life. But long story short we separated her to heal. Made a run off the coop. Had her alone. Was feeling bad since she was alone. Allowed her with others. The one hen isn’t a fan of her at the moment. Don’t know if it’s cause they sense she’s injured but the other hen is completely fine with her I left borh together all day today outside and left the mean hen and rooster in run. Fenced in so they see each other. Then I let the rooster and other hen out. The other hen is chasing the attacked one away feom food. Rooster mounted her 2 times within a 5 minute span. Is it cause she’s still Injured? One of the hens is okay with her. So I wanted to see what other would do. What should I do keep 2 and 2 separate till she’s full healed or? She’s not terribly injured her neck is bald and her left side feather/chest was missing feathers and showing some skin sorry for long post

Does she just have missing feathers? Or is there also missing skin?

You would be wise to separate her for now so you can observe and treat her. Treat her first for shock. Shock can cause numerous health issues, even kill. Give her some tepid Gatoraid or sugar water with a pinch of salt and baking soda in it.

Clean any wounds well and coat with a topical ointment for wounds. She should be returned to the flock as soon as she's behaving normally. But it would help if she had a protective barrier so the others won't pick on her while she's healing.

Many of us have a "jail" section in our runs for this purpose. Having a place to place a chicken while they recover will eliminate the inevitable conflict of returning her to the pecking order later.

She’s missing feathers. Some skin on her win was missing. Neck just looked bare of feathers. I’ll keep her in our jail section. Sometimes I flip them so she can be outsife and they’ll be in the jail section. I’ll keep doing what I’ve been. Treating her wounds and keeping her away from the other 2 who are Mean at the moment. Thank you
