Hawk detergent

Knowing which hawks migrate and which ones live near you year-round helps to keep your chickens safe. If you live along a migration route chances are you're going to see more Hawks than someone who doesn't
 
Are you sure you have hawks? "Large black" "encircling" better describes vultures IMO. And they are not a risk to your chickens (although they may not believe that...)

I agree that the best way to keep your birds safe is to have them enclosed.
This depends on the type of vultures. Where we live in KY, turkey vultures are cool with the chickens, but black vultures are well known predators and will kill chickens, lambs, and calves.
