Hawk got hen! Throat is ripped open...DH is deployed and I can't kill her. HELP ME!

I tried giving her some of my sons amoxacillan orally through food and she won't eat. She is getting worse again. Wheezing terribly. She must have a punctured lung. She isn't fighting alot anymore. I may just try to shoot her now. I hate this so much.

I agree with salt and pepper. She is most likely suffering and you should just humanely put her down. Putting her to sleep is the best option. She will just fall asleep peacefully. There will be no pain. You must act soon, as she is probably suffering more and more each second! You must decide to do what is right. It is the only right decision to put her down. I am so sorry.

Wow - that's just terrible. I'm so sorry. I hope you find the strength to do what you can do to end her suffering.

I'm a coward, so I would put her in a warm place and let nature take its course or take her to a vet to be euthanized. I admire those that can do it themselves...

Call your neighbour or a family friend. Someone will help you put the hen out of misery ASAP. I'm really sorry your hen is so injured.
