As of this weekend I have noticed an increase in the number of fast fying hawks heading south before thermals startup. Patterns we grew accustomed to over summer in regards to hawk activities will no longer apply and many of the migrants will be young and more inclined to take risk. It is also time that Marek's disease will raise its ugly head in my flock. I think the small songbirds the hawks feed on mostly are the carriers.
