Hawk or Fox?

Something from my other Post:

And then me and my Friend noticed a pile of feathers in a circle, the same color as the older Chick

The feathers were found in the woods, Pretty close to the Coop.


REASONS WHY I THINK ITS A HAWK
Our first guess was a Hawk, because the Chickens would always look up by the Trees and make this Sound

- The Chickens (The Roosters, Mostly. I think the Hens may have done it a couple times) will make the Sound, Like a Warning Sound. Then they will stop whatever they are doing (All o them) and Perk their heads up, then a couple seconds later. Go back to whatever they were doing (This mostly happens when they are by the Coop, Eating)

- Our dogs were looking up the trees, as there was a Hawk or something

- feathers were in a pile, as i a Hawk came own an just grabbe it

- feathers were not scattere out

How big are your chickens? A chicken will try to get away from a hawk, which would lead to feathers being scattered. If a fox grabbed your chickens, it's more like a sudden death due to how small a chicken is compared to a fox. A fox can put a whole chicken in it's mouth, and carry it away. Also, a hawk usually doesn't repeat a attack that often. not only that, the chickens would be terrified if they seen a hawk attack multiple times, and would learn very quick to run or hide every time they seen one

Nope, I wish there was. I usually in out whats killing our chickens i i see a body

How big are your chickens

11 Ault (Laying), 4 Chicks (Laying), 6 Chicks, 9 Chicks an 8-10 Chicks. So, So they were Mostly Chicks. The 4 Chicks were Almost the same Size as the Aults

My girl Agnes had been taken by what I believe was a fox, because her feathers were in a pile and they were strewn elsewhere, also I wanna say that someone told me that hawks eat their prey where they kill it so there would be guts and stuff by the feathers. At least to my understanding. I just did a search for "do hawks eat their prey on the ground" and it basically says that for smaller prey, hawks may take it to a tree to eat it, but for prey they cannot lift, they eat it on the ground.

While foxes tend to usually take their prey to their den or to store it elsewhere.

Also I bet its a fox if it happens repeatedly.
My friend has an awful fox issue. Tons of her chickens have been taken. Sometimes the fox will kill many at a time. She has seen the fox carry the chickens to another place, but not eating them I don't think. The thing with foxes, is that if it knows where to find food, it will come back and keep killing.
