i usually let them free range in the late evening, under supervision .the last couple of days.i have been putting them in them in their chicken tractors.and taking them back to their coops at the edge of dark.i'am so afraid to let them free range.that hawk is brave he will perch in the trees and watch us.i seen a setup the other day.they had taken a heavy netting and two tall poles and draped it teepee style.and attached it to the sides of the run to protect them from hawks.it was a neat setup.but i would not trust it.i'am sure coons could chew right through it.i had in mind of just using it in the evenings so i could let my flock out to free range.does anyone on this site know of any resources where i may be able to find some heavy netting.
