Yesterday I found a headless young hen. I was thinking a raccoon, then this morning my turkeys were roosting in a different spot. So I was convinced I was correct. This afternoon I came home to a young turkey dead but not eaten, at all. I’ve attached pics of what I discovered, I’m now thinking hawk. Anyone recognize the “tracks” as something a hawk would leave behind? Thanks!

That was probably a hawk, sratchikng the ground and flapping around trying to get one of the birds.

:welcome :frow Not sure but could have been. If you have a camera put it up and then you will probably be able to know what is lurking. I have had a hawk lurking around here lately. This morning I saw two hawks. My pens are all covered with good heavy duty netting. I went around to check it out to look for any gaps. Hopefully they will move on. Good luck...

Thank you! Well this afternoon I have two smaller turkey chicks missing. The hen has raised ten with only losing one, and she hatched them out in the woods. Everyone is free range around here except the peeps. I guess I’m going to have to lock everyone up until it moves on. I feel bad because they are use to roaming.
