Hawks got 2.

A Cooper's Hawk will fly into smaller spaces than that...and they are agile and quick. I watched a Cooper's Hawk dive under a picnic awning at a fast food restaurant, miss table legs and other obstructions to try and get a sparrow. He missed but I am not sure how because he was like a heat seeking missile on that bird. A Cooper's Hawk(when we still lived in the city) would sit on my neighbor's mailbox and watch my bird feeders. When he was ready to strike, he was quick and gone. :( Beautiful raptor but deadly to birds of all kinds.

This may very well be a Cooper's hawk We live in the city, and I actually think my predator issues are far worse. Lack of hunting space brings them in close

I think it was probably a Cooper's Hawk too. They have no fear of flying into small spots. I am out in the country now and see mainly Red Tails, Red Shouldered and a few Eagles. They come almost daily and scope out my run for a few swirls overhead and then move on. I assume they see it as too much trouble with so many vast fields around. I hope. I haven't seen a Cooper's Hawk out here. No reason why there wouldn't be one though which makes me nervous because I have about a 6" x12" gap under the edge of my run and I KNOW a Coopers Hawk would have no fear about flying into that gap. I have hologram streamers dangling over it right now but I NEED to get my ladder out and fix that gap. Hubby thinks I am being silly but he hasn't seen a Cooper's Hawk in action like I have. :(
