Hawks!!!! What to do

Just got the scare of my life! Hear my chickens a lot of noise. Run out I see a lot of black birds Hawk. It tried to get one of polish hen's I see a lot of feathers on the ground I started to panic did a head count. Not missing any of my chickens. It tried to get my white crested polish she is missing a lot of feathers on back bout size of golf ball. It did scratch the skin put some antibiotics on her. My question is how to keep unwanted birds out of yard? I have always heard if you put foil pans out it will keep them away. Also hanging CD's will keep them away. I'm doing both. Is there any more suggestions?

You can try giving them places to hide. After I lost one, I hung up cds, and put up a fake owl. I also put netting up in two parts of my backyard. I also kept them confined to the run for week. The hawk still flies by on occasion, but, knock on wood, hasnt taken anymore. Nothing is really guaranteed, but the more deterrents, the better. Good luck.
