Hawks

Strangely enough my property is home base to 4 barn owls and a prime lookout for Sparrow Hawks, Red tail and more. The raptors are in our yard every day, most of the day. The only chickens the hawks have gone after are small chicks. They even leave my d'Uccles alone. We also have crows & ravens in our yard at any time. Interesting, huh?

Please know that shooting at hawks (near them, to scare them off) is a federal offense in some states.

Crows will eat a wide variety of things , I've seen them eat dog food and pizza in a near by city that has a a problem with them during winter months . They especially like fatty meat trimmings and suet but nearly everything a crow will be attracted to will also attract omnivores like possums and coons .
