Hawks

Hi! I ordered my first chicks ever and we have alot of hawks where we live. I was wondering what kind of chicken wire or netting i should put over my pen?

Most people use deer fencing or bird netting (the plastic stuff) as it is cheaper and lighter than the metal wire.

I use the chicken wire over the top of the run. We have had 2 hawk attacks on the same chicken and she's still my best layer!!! So now she is very well protected.

I used 2" chicken wire (poultry netting). I stretched it tight so it wouldn't sag and it has worked well for me. And it is inexpensive.
