right? I think I am totally done with this site. People are WAY too confrontational. Everyone thinks they know EVERYTHING! Like I believe those saying I am wrong with ALL the different officials I spoke with that day that said I could do so. The people on this site MUST be right and THE TWO STATE TROOPERS I SPOKE WITH AND THE WILDLIFE OFFICER I SPOKE WITH MUST BE WRONG. MUST BE....

..and I came to tell my story on a thread I saw was about a topic I recently had a personal experience with. I NEVER asked for "help". The ones who THINK they "help" just sound like know it alls because thier advice WAS NEVER ASKED FOR AND QUITE FRANKLY...... IS BAD, INCORRECT, AND VERY UNHELPFUL

No, but I WILL post the scarecrow I am making to deter the hawk AND IF he DOES get another bird and I do get him this next time..I WILL post a pic of the FEDERAL OFFICER with the bird who wants me to call him once I do get it. They just want me to let them know so that they can come and take the dead bird. They must've told me that just so they could arrest me, right

THIS STATE HAS A LAW THAT PROTECTS ALL LIVESTOCK because I think EVERY SINGLE person in this state HAS livestock! I HAVE A NEIGHBOR THAT SHOT ANOTHER NEIGHBORS DOG FOR GOING AFTER HIS SHEEP! EVEN THAT IS LEGAL! YOU MAY KILL ANYTHING IF IT COMES DOWN TO YOUR LIVESTOCK. They sent someone out to my house with a book of laws that shows they are illegal to shoot UNLESS THEY ARE AFTER YOUR ANIMALS!!! You can't go around just killing them, I am not saying that but ALMOST ALL states have the livestock law!

actually, the part about that, that I did find amusing is how he told me I CAN'T touch the bird. I CAN SHOOT IT BUT I CAN'T TOUCH IT. bahahaha. That is why he advised that I would have to call them to come out and collect the bird. ((PLEASE NOTE ANYONE reading this that this...that this is NOT the law in every state)) I think he said something like 43 or 44 states have the livestock law so there are a few that DO NOT! (Florida may be one I think) SO DON'T JUST GO KILLING HAWKS...or your neighbors dog even if they are after your livestock!! LOL! CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES FIRST AS I DID!! It DOES vary from state to state

I'm not an idiot! There is not one single species of hawk that is "protected" in my state. Did you read the entire post?? IT DOES SAY I CALLED AND CONFIRMED WITH THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT. I wouldn't post illegal activity online. Geez

Understand that law enforcement/animal control agents/ and wildlife conservation people are human and capable of passing out mis information. No one is calling you an idiot. If there is indeed an idiot it may be the person who gave you this misinformation. There is a mechanism for getting a permit to remove a predatory bird doing damage, but I have never met/talked to/ or heard from anyone who has been able to get such a permit. Do a computer serch on 'Operation high roller' - a federally sponsored sting operation that took down, prosecuted, fined and incarccerated Birmingham roller fliers/competitors on the West coast. Killing protected birds is taken very seriously, and agents indeeed do survey sites such as BYC.
