Hay is the only thing I can think of that is making me itchy

My friend is allergic to hay. She breaks out on her arms where ever the hay touches her every time she feeds her horses. You can switch to straw or shavings or something to see if things change.

I'm allergic to alfalfa hay, I nearly have an athsma attack if I don't change my shirt and wash my hands and arms immediatley after handling it. Regular grass hay doesn't bother me, neither does straw.

It could be chicken lice. It will look like a little yellowish bug. You can get rid of it by puting a law care thing called seven on them and around the coop. Good luck

Thanks everyone, I will wear overalls next time I change them...it will look like a crime scene!

There is a tiny straw mite that leaves very nasty bites that turn red and itch like crazy. This is a bad year some frinds have had to return they horses winter hay because of these tiny pests. If you don't have a lot of hay get rid of it.These little mites can even cause horses trouble.
