Yep...same ten people or same 20% of the population does all the volunteering. Here you see the same people on the homeowners boards, PTAs, teaching Sunday School, coaching teams, leading scouts and volunteering in their communities. The current president of the PTA at my kid's middle school was the board president when he was in private pre-K. These people don't have any more time or more skills than anyone else; they just step up when help is needed. I also find that it is the other 80% that does all the complaining.

As for the BIL...

But what can you expect from a 42 year old that works part-time and lives in mom's basement.

Same thing with my husband. He is the only one of a family of 4 brothers and 1 sister that does not live in the area (he travels extensively throughout the week) and he is also the only one that does not work part time or is otherwise unoccupied. Guess who is called upon when some projects need to get done????? Like he has nothing better to do….like doing the projects at our OWN farm. Selfish people.
