We had a Doberman female who we fostered, then found a home for. We posted her as "for sale", at a hefty price. When the guy showed up, we saw he was good and that she took to him immediately. After an hour long "interview, he asked for her paw, as a companion.

We agreed, he tried to pay the outrageous price- we said nope, you're going to need it for dog chow! 3 years later, they are both still very happy together! (truth is stranger than fiction- the dobie helped him find a girlfriend!)

Always ask a slightly high price- it weeds out the deadbeats!
