Hi! I never thought my first posts would be asking gender....hehe. I have 2 chicks that I'm unsure of the gender. I feel like the white one is pretty obvious, but I saw some pretty extreme combs on hens in some pics, so I'm confused. These chicks are about 7 weeks old.

First is our white chick. He/she was sold to us as a red sexlink pullet, but obviously that is not the case! He/she has light brown feathers around the neck and some brown specs in the wings. Yellow legs.

Second is our lavender orpington. His/her comb stands out to me, as well as tail feathers that are longer then a lot of our other pullets.

Sorry, looks like two boys... Red sex link girls are mostly red, the boys are mostly white, if it is a first generation red sex link it has to be a boy just because of the color, he looks like a him anyhow. The lav orp looks like a roo also, I have some about a month older, and the boys started getting definite combs & wattles about the age yours is there.

Thanks. This is what we've suspected for several weeks, but I wanted to wait it out and see. Seems like it's just getting more obvious. Now to find these little guys some good homes!
