I very, very badly want my chicks back. Very, very badly. I really want to call the guy and buy back 3 of the chicks, and tell him he can have three "as we agreed on". If fiance is right, the guy said he wanted three then came and took six... but even then my fiance LET him buy them!! Wasnt the guys fault!!. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!@(#(#(@#@

Hurry and do it before it's too late! You should just call and explain the misunderstanding and give him his money back for the 3 extra chicks (maybe even offer to give a couple extra dollars just for the trouble?). You will have to do it ASAP or you will never get them back. It would seem strange to him if you found out about the misunderstanding and waited a while before finally calling. If there really was a misunderstanding, someone would call right away to explain it, right?

If you don't want to make them sad, I agree with EweSheep. Either trade back 3 chicks that you don't mind giving in return for the 3 that you want (NEED) back, or take the 3 back and give him his money back that he paid for the extra 3. Whatever works best for both of you.

To be fair, when I was on the phone I didnt specifically say "three of the next hatch" so I can understand that he thought I was talking about the current hatch. The convo went along the lines of "Someone called asking about buying three chicks." "Sure, that should be fine" The guy would have read the ad I posted that the chicks werent ready yet, but my fiance hadnt. He knows we have pullets reserved but he hasnt been dealing with that aspect of anything. Regardless he knew I would NEVER agree to six and NEVER my favourite

I would confront the purchaser and inform him you want them back. He was aware you only were willing to sell 3 and he mislead your fiance into letting him have 6. I would however, have your fiance go with you. It's a way of checking the validity of his statement and it emphasizes that he needs to respect your interests.

Technically there is, I have 4 chicks not including my runt here. It would make me feel better having my favourite back, but ALL of those chicks were to be raised until point of lay here in my backyard. I just was not prepared for this.
