The first pip was 27 hours ago. It started coming out but seems stuck on something.

I just completed my first hatch the weekend and had 2 I had to fully assist. My duckling was stuck like that for about three hours and then I intervened and cracked some of the shell around the original air pocket. Popped right out. I would leave it for a while and see if it makes progress. If it doesn't make progress after a few hours help a little but not if its still absorbing yolk. There is a forum on here about assisted hatching that's amazing! Convinced it saved my hatch! I am by no means an expert in any way though!

Thanks so much! It’s soo sad to watch and now that 5 others have hatched since it’s been trying to get out they keep stepping on it’s head

Thanks for asking. It was a long torturous 5 hours to watch it struggle but finally it came out without any intervention. My 8 year old said it needs a very strong name. 11 out of 14 have hatched so far. 2 more are pipping. We’re very excited. This is our first time hatching chickens.
