Head Lump / Abnormality

Hi all,

This might be “exposed brain” but looks a bit different to some of the other examples I’ve seen.

Will get some antiseptic cream for it but any other suggestions/recommendations?

I am not experienced with chick abnormalities, but I wish you luck with your little chick and hope someone with more knowledge will come along soon.

For now, don't place her with ANY of the other chicks. She needs her own separate area. The others will peck at her head and either worsen the damage, or kill her. Keep the area as clean as humanely possible, and see if it can heal. Keep her warm, fed, and see if she exhibits any strange behaviors. You can try dabbing on a small amount of Neosporin. It could be her brain, but it might be a less severe case. She'll either pull through, or not. Good luck!

It looks like she has been pecked and injured. Clean it and apply plain antibiotic ointment twice a day, and keep her separated until it heals some.
