One chicken just standin around, wincing and shaking head as if choking. I have a video but cannot seem to upload it.

Check your chicken's crop first thing in the morning before she's had anything to eat or drink to make sure it's emptying.
Shaking the head like choking - take a look inside her beak for obstruction.

I see them doing it in the dirt. But i can out some fireplace ash out today?

Take some Diatomaceous Earth and scoop them on your make sure to put a scoop per chicken how many chickens you have how many scoops you add on your chicken feed.

how is the hen's condition now?

She ate very little when i let her out, made a green poop. She went to stand by herself and was pruning herself.
