In the Brooder
Hey everyone, looking for some insight!
My 11 week old olive egger was acting nice and normal today when suddenly she shook her head so violently (almost like a convulsion) that she lost balance and was making distressed noises. She did this twice in the span of a few minutes, but then not again. When I held her she seemed to be almost trying to work something up, mouth open- but nothing was stuck that I could see and her crop was normal. No respirator issues other than mouth open (which was only as I massaged her crop by the way, then returned to beak closed), tail feathers up, waddle nice and rosey.
Directly afterwards she went back to eating and drinking normally, pooped a totally standard poop, pecking around, all the most standard chicken behaviors.
I had fed all the girls some earthworms I found while leveling out some ground to expand the run. I know the risk of gapeworm is low (so I read) but should I treat for worms just in case? I had gotten vermX but never used it before - Totally shooting in the dark here, I’m actually just curious for any insight at all!
Thank you!!!!
