Headless Chicken... What predator did this?

Yes! I will definitely put out a live trap tomorrow! Another great idea! The coop itself is secure and is locked at night, but now I'm thinking of putting another lock on the door. We've been here a bit over 6 years and have never had issues besides hawks (and one questionable kill by an owl). Ugh!
Our attack on our ducks happened because the raccoon managed to lift a heavy hinged roof up from their coop- so keep that in mind if your coop has anything like that on it!
Also I agree with most when they say to dispatch any and all coons you catch. I sure hope you catch what got to your feathered friends!!

As OP describes the conditions, near 100% certain it was an owl. Head and neck gone, plus a pile of feathers. As I read it, bird was NOT in a run or pen, but was out in the open.

Keep an eye to the sky.......more like treeline. It will be watching for more victims, you can count on that.
