I've been caring for a duck since he was three days old he had been injured by a hawk but he has mated and he's been in this kennel for a month and a half now and he is all healed up and ready to go but I'm afraid to let him lose because he is not ready to fly yet. Any suggestions are appreciated I'm not sure if I should let him out the kennel do I wait for him to fly the yard is not covered by a fence he can actually get out or walk out into the street they are some other dogs around I need advice on letting him loose

If you don't have a fenced in area with netting over it to keep him safe it's probably not a good idea to let him loose. What kind of a duck is he? I'm guessing muscovy?

Yes a muscovy, you think i should wait till he can fly, i want him to have friends.lol but making his safety first priority.Oh and Im currently leaving in an apartment. So as you can imagine some neighbors think its weird.like I said his wellbeing is my priority. So do I keep him in kennel till he can fly?

Oh my gosh this sounds like the situation B&B duck lady from Florida was in. She had her muscovy baby in her house in a subdivision that doesn't allow ducks. She had to sneak around and was trying desperatly to find a nice home for Quacky.

So it seems that you need to find a forever home for this baby unless you are planning to move right? where are you anyway?
