Our Araucana got out of her run sometime within the last 24 hours. Something has injured her very badly (see pic). Not sure if it was our dog or another animal. But, that's irrelevant. I need to know how to heal the open wound. I will use hydrogen peroxide to clean it. But, what kind of dressing and bandage should I use?

Veterycin spray is good, and widely available. Unlike the others I would leave it open (not wrapped) unless she's messing with it. Separate her from the others so she can't be pecked, keep her on clean towels rather than any kind of loose bedding to help keep it clean. If any feathers are getting in the wound trim them back with a small pair of scissors to help keep it clean. Initially flush it out really well to remove as much dirt and debris as possible. Plain neosporin is good also. Check her over well to make sure you haven't missed any other wounds that may be hiding in feathers. As long as no infection sets in and there are no internal injuries she has a good chance of recovering.

Maybe a little overkill? Not sure if I'm supposed to put on the hydrogel first or not. I kept her out for a day, tasted without the bandage and the other girls pecked at her making her bleed.
