Heard cock a doodle do - but which one?

They're both 110% boys, sorry.

Both boys. I agree, the Marans is probably crowing. Brahmas are known to be slower to mature and more submissive.

I believe those are both boys. I see sickle, pointy hackles, and saddle feathers on the Marans, and I see saddles and sickles on the LB. Handsome boys!

It seems that "Nancy" has become a "Ned," and "Michelle" has become a "Michael."

Closer picture of Michelle's back. Are those rooster feathers?

Sorry, but they're both boys.

Those long, shiny feathers that kind of hang by the base of his tail are called saddle feathers. If you look at a hen, she will have blunt, round feathers that don't hang down.

Both of them also have the long, shiny, and more vertical sickle (tail) feathers that only roos have.

And then there's the long, pointy hackle (neck) feathers.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately we live in the city and cannot have roosters (actually we're not supposed to have hens either but as long as we keep our neighbors in fresh eggs, they don't mind!)
