I've been wondering this for a couple weeks.

Can you still process and eat birds that die of heart attack or broken legs if they are big enough?

Just something that has had me thinking. I am thinking of getting me first flock of meat birds late August/ Early September.

Thanks

Fractured bones is okay, but I wouldn't eat a bird who died suddenly even if death was caused by cardiac disease.

I kept the meat from one that died from flip just three days ago, two days before they were scheduled for processing! But I knew she's only been down about a minute or two because I had just fed and watered them and she was looking tired. She was panting a bit, but it's been hot. I left them for two minutes to check on the week olds I have in the garage and when I came back out she was on her back. So I kept skinned and quartered it. I wouldn't eat it if I didn't know long it had been lying there, no way.
