I came here tonight to get some advice on my almost 1 year old Brahma with an impacted crop. I am new at this, have just the 4 and they are going to be 1 on April 9th. She got sick so fast and so hard and this is the second time I've been faced with such fear. This time I think I'm facing a horrible end.
I find it so shocking how much can go wrong with chickens and how wrong it can go so fast. All of my friends told me to not get attached but hell, I AM. I raised them from 1 day old and I spoil them rotten to the point where my human kids are jealous at times! I am now faced with losing one so close to her birthday and came here for advice and am hearing the same story over and over...seemingly healthy girls just dropping and heartbroken chicken mamas.
For the love of the chicken I will go on and I just wanted to offer my support and empathy to those of you with hurting babies and hearts tonight!!
HUGE HUGS
