I had several incidents of soft shelled eggs during the big heat wave of 2011. After talking to other chicken people, I find out that I wasn't the only one that happened to. I offered plenty of veggies and oyster shells and fresh water Did any of you have that happen when it was really hot and humid?

I had the same issue, plus mine were already stressing trying to fill their feathers back in that they lost from the rooster. After some research and talking with or local chicken guru, I've added the following; stress ez suppliment to their water (vitamins & electrolytes), and some form of dairy every other day. It seems to have helped them, plus we are finally getting a break here from the humidity. Now to deal with the rain.
