Hi Folks:
When can I turn off the heat going to my coop for my 10 week old Rhode Island Reds?
My full grown rooster is crowing all night long and is somewhat aggravating.
Thanks,
Jim

I live in North Carolina where it has been getting into the 20's lately.
Thank you,
Jim

I'm in VA and my 10 wk. olds are still getting a heat lamp at night. I know they say they are fully feathered by this age, but I haven't wanted to chance it.

What color of bulb do you have in your heat lamp? Mine have a red bulb and the older chickens, along with my rooster, do not seemed bothered by it. If you are using a white bulb, try switching to a red one to see if that helps.

I live in Idaho, been freezing at night and my 10 week old haven't had a heat lamp for two weeks. Now there is 20 of them and they are in the big coop with the other chickens but they are doing great!
