I would definitely cover the concrete with some kind of bedding like pine shavings or straw. You don't want unprotected concrete with chickens on it. It will be nearly impossible to get all the feces off. One of my coops is on concrete. On the side where I raise chicks, I have it covered with a sheet of 3/4" plywood for insulation from the cold ground and that is then covered with pine shavings.

Thanks for this thread you saved me from starting the same one! My babies are 6 weeks on Sunday. All but one are fully feathered and we are thinking of starting to wean them off the heatlamp...still coldish here though in the north of England so not going outside just yet! ❤
